EV charging stations in Kigali
Charging in Rwanda is Kigali-centric and growing fast. Here is the current picture and who runs it.
The networks
- Kabisa runs the largest public network (26 points; 240 kW ultra-fast at SP Kanombe).
- ~24 public car-charging stations (AC + DC) as of Aug 2025.
- ~49 battery-swap stations (mostly motorcycles).
Cost & practicalities
- Charging electricity capped near ~$0.10/kWh.
- Most home / AC chargers are 7–22 kW; DC fast-charging is the exception.
- Verify live coverage before a long upcountry route.
